  1. Hi Lisa
I came across your web site and reviewed the free lessons. I have been thrilled at the prospect of learning to play the piano and your lessons seem to provide me with the perfect start.
Since a child I have loved piano’s as an instrument and to listen to one being played live, however badly, has always been a thrill. During my past I have never been in a position to learn to play piano as purchasing one was out of reach. In today’s world it is possible to purchase an 88 key digital piano for a few hundred pounds, and is therefore within reach. I have placed an order for such an instrument and expect delivery next week. I am 58yrs old and I have a couple of minor concerns about my ability to play.
    1. Dyslexia. As a child this was not recognised. Today I recognise this is a problem that has been with me forever and a day. I wonder what impact this will have on my ability to learn to read music?
    2. I am a manual labourer and at 58 I have a number of aching joints etc and would like to know if the finger exercises talked about are going to help my joints? or will this be an additional strain on them and as a result limit my achievements?
    Thank you
    Chris Sherriff

  2. I’ve just completed lesson one and am so exited. I am 66 years old and am just now realizing my lifetime dream of learning how to play the piano. My husband bought me a keyboard for my birthday. You make learning very easy. Looking forward to all the next lessons.

  9. Hi Lisa. I am one of the guilty ones of being a PIANO DROPOUT from years past. I finally have found the time to pick it back up. I still label myself as a beginner because I had not gotten very far in my previous lessons, and it has been some years since I have played. However, one of my colleagues has been playing for about four years now and it has re-ignited my desire to start learning again. He shared with me that he learned a lot from your online piano course and spoke very highly of how much it helped him.

I decided to look it up online and see what it had to offer. I did the first five lessons in 20 minutes, and I must say I was very impressed with how easy it was to follow. Right now, I see my biggest problem is reading music. I have a full understanding of what the notes mean (you explained that very well in the free lessons),and I have developed my own mnemonic for the lines and spaces, but I still have to count the notes on sheet music in order to recognize what note needs to be played. I understand this problem will get easier with time and experience, but does your program offer exercises to help make this a little easier? Are there exercises I can do to make my left hand as good as my right hand? I am doing about 5 hours a week of practice with the lessons on the current online lessons I purchased a few weeks ago with another instructor. I have gotten so much more out of yours and wish I would have discovered it before I purchased this one.

  19. Hello Lisa!

I had started your free online lessons back in 2008, but my keyboard didn’t have the proper amount of keys. I was fortunate to find a keyboard at a flea market for $40 that has 61 keys and works perfectly. It just isn’t touch sensitive. Since learning to play the piano was on my bucket list. I just have to accomplish it. I took lessons from a neighor back when I was 11 living in NJ and loved it! I believe it was the old Ada Richeter (sp) first and 2nd books. My teacher was a kindergarten teacher who also taught piano. I took it off an on for 1 year. I learned with a metronome (sp?). Unfortunately, my Dad was in the Army and got transferred to MD and they couldn’t afford to have me continue lessons. I was very sad. I graduated high school, got married started a family and still no money for lessons.

I kept all of the emails that you sent me back in 2008 and 2009, so I already had a folder set up just for your emails entitled “Piano Lessons”

Anyway, here I am now.. at the age of 65, retired and yesterday downloaded the first 4 lessons so far and they are amazing. I love the tick tock method better than the metronome…. and saying it outloud helps keep me in time and rythm. It was a little difficult at first, but I’m getting the hang of it! Before I download the 5th lesson, I am going to go back through the 1st 4 to make sure I can do it without any mistakes, then on to the 5th. I am so excited about learning. Thank you for this easy lesson plan… It’s wonderful. When I complete the 5th I am SO interested in becoming a member.

  20. I finally found the answer, and you are the processes that help me to find it.
Thank you very much, Mrs. Lisa,
great joy for me be able to learn from your lessons.
    God bless you.

  21. Wow Lisa thank you so much for the lessons, I now see more improvements from all the lessons I received from you. thank you so much
