Live Lesson with Lisa – Nov 6th, 8PM – Carol of the Bells Part 1

Welcome to another episode by Lisa!  The live session is over, but the recording is below.

We will be testing effectiveness of having a lesson this way – you will be able to see me play on the piano as I demonstrate a few measures at a time – it will be much like how you see the videos that I create for you.    I believe the main benefit of having live lessons is accountability and motivation.

We will be learning the first part of Carol of the Bells – you will need to download and print the sheet music:

  2. Hi Lisa,

That’s a shame. 8pm central is 2am my time here in the UK. I shall have to watch the recording.

  3. Lisa, I am thankful to God for bringing you back to us. I had stopped working on my lessons. I am excited about your personal interest for us to succeed in learning to play the piano. Yes! I’ll be watching you tonight and I will be back in front of my piano once again. The live streaming is just like having you in my home visiting.
    Thanks Helen

  4. Hi Lisa,

Though it will be 5:00AM my time, but i will go to bed early and make sure that my cellphone’s alarm will wake me up before that time, the problem is that i have to use a couple of head sets for the keyboard and for the PC…. everyone around will be sleeping 🙂

  7. Hi Lisa, i just made it 🙂 i can see it know and can hear you very clear, on my Galaxy Note there is some delay!

  8. Lisa, i can see and hear sound is good on PC but on pad there is some delay – i did practice it by the way i am from the Middle east.

  9. I am practicing but I have problems with connection playing and going back and forth with video. I leave it on full screen. Difficult with connection to post.

  10. Hi Lisa,
No problem in Cleveland, Ohio. Resolution and sound are fine.
This is good motivator for me as I have not played for almost 2 yrs. due to cancer treatments. Thank you, now I can have “private” lessons, sick or not, without leaving home!

  11. Thanks for the invite. Everything came in clear. Look forward to at least a continuation of weekly lessons. Looking forward to getting back to playing after a long absence.

  12. you lost me, but I’ll practice. can you assign things ahead of time, so that we can be prepared? Fortunately, I had already started trying to learn COB, that’s why I had the music printed. Thanks. This was fun. I never would have figured out the bass line without you.

  13. Picture was fuzzy with a slight red cast on keyboard. I don’t know what that’s all about. I tried to enlarge to a full screen but it was way too fuzzy, so I went back to regular size. Audio was good, could hear you real well, sounds like you have a cold or allergies, take care on yourself.

  14. I forgot to mention my time zone, I’m in Iowa which is central time the say as you are Lisa. Eight PM on Thursdays usually works for me too.

  15. Lisa,

Thanks. I would like to follow up on the fingering question that has bothered me in the lessons.

Carol of the Bells doesn’t have numbering and I thought I had missed something.

When you play a song that is not in the lessons I take it that you have to try out different fingering until you find the most comfortable?

I was under the impression that it was just because you had to anticipate not “running out of fingers” in the next few measures.

  16. Hello Lisa,
That is a huge challenge you took up,everything is fine here. I can see and hear clearly and fully understand what you are teaching. I am glad you started off with timing,so I marked my sheet while you were teaching 1 &2 & 3 &. No fuss here I can follow you easily it gets better as you go along. God Bless you Lisa and your family also. I already have two teachers but I will support you in anyway I can. I am going to rate this lesson as excellent as I never got lost or confused this was fantastic. thanks again.
