How to Play Carol of the Bells

christmas_pianoIt’s Not Too Early to Start Learning Holiday Songs!

Carol of the Bells is one of top requested holiday melodies to learn to play!   I share this song every year and no one ever gets tired of it – so if you already know how to play it – it’s time to review it, if you don’t, then it’s time to learn it and impress your family and friend this year!  It’s actually an easy song to learn.

This song can be learned by watching the videos alone, but of course, if you can read music, you can download the sheet music and learn it faster! 🙂 (That’s an advantage of learning how to read music!)

ALSO – for those who like more of a “Play Along with a Teacher” – if you look to the right of this page, you will see red links – there is a part 1 and part 2 of a live broadcast of me teaching Carol of the Bells.   I think you might enjoy it in a different way.

If you want to download the sheet music, use this link:

I know that everyone learns at a different pace, so take your time and enjoy the entire process!

Rushing will only slow your progress! Master each video before moving to the next one. I promise you will enjoy each step as much as you will enjoy the entire song!

Have fun!

The first video will show you how to play the first 12 measures of the song:

Make sure you master the first video before going on to video #2.

    1. Sure hope I can learn thiss, by Xmas!
I`m slow because of “Tremors”,plus my age, of (89) yrs!
Tried to get the Print out, on my computer, but wasted lots of printing paper, no luck!
      Thank-you, Lisa!

  2. Has it been the most requested since recently, because it’s not far from Christmas? Because where I am everybody wants to learn, ‘Silent Night’

  4. Thank You Lisa – – – I appreciate your keeping me on your “inactive” list, and I appreciate receiving your simple sheet music for “Carol of the Bells.” You have motivated me to dust off my piano keys and take the time to sit and learn to play this sweet melody – – – and I will use this to encourage my grand-daughters in their own piano lessons.

    Once again, thanks. Stay well.

  5. Thanks so much Lisa, i’ll teach my kids, you make it so simple and easy to learn. More power to your endeavor!! I’ll wait for the next video lessons. God bless!

  6. Lisa, I love that you put so much into your helping others to learn piano. It’s your techniques and videos and support (more than any others) that got me into your lessons. Now Christmas is not far and already you are starting the excitement of it all. Thank you for what you do. We certainly need a wonderful hobby like piano to take our minds off of the issues of today’s depressing events. May you be blessed!

  7. Thanks for the lessons and for the seasonal music. BTW, it’s called ‘Christmas’ music, not ‘holiday’ music. Holidays come around all year long (in my part of the world, we get about 22 holidays a year), so one has to be specific and say ‘Christmas music’, for one doesn’t play something like “Carol of the Bells” at Easter or Independence Day or Ramzan or any of the many New Years that are celebrated by the various communities that make up our beautiful world.

  8. Thank you so much, Lisa, for sending the beautiful carol “Carol of the Bells”. I will stay put and practise it till I master it.
    Thanks once again,
    Richard

  9. Thanks a lot Lisa,

I’m enjoying playing this song immensely. Although, I’m mid-way in lesson 7, I’ve learnt the use of the black keys through this song.
    Thanks again

  10. Thanks for the free lessons. I took one semester of beginning piano at a local college here in Atlanta a while ago. I found out that if you don’t practice every day, you lose your skills. I will be enrolling in the course soon. Appreciate all you do.

  11. I surely appreciate your fine gesture. I hope that I can leave this as a legacy to my grand children.

  21. Thank you Lisa for the sheet music and the lessons. This was a very special Christmas present and timely, as I opened it on Christmas morning. What a pleasure it has been for me to take piano lessons from you. My progress isn’t always as speedy as I would like but at least I am always learning. Will be glad when the holidays are over as my piano lesson time has been limited with so many other things that I needed to accomplish. I am so happy that I found your web site and delighted to have you as my teacher. You make your students want to learn piano. Hoping that you had a lovely Christmas and wish you and Jay blessings in the New Year. Rae

  22. Hello Lisa,

Thanks again for a wonder Christmas present. Carol of the Bells is always a song I wanted to learn. I’ve been so busy with work all December that I haven’t had time really to touch my piano all month other than a few times to play songs I have already learned but I haven’t had time to move forward through my lessons. I downloaded and printed the sheets for Carol of the Bells on Christmas eve and started on page 1 that night. With almost a month without playing, my sight reading skills have fallen behind and I was so tired that night that I was sure something I was doing was wrong.. so I called it a night. On Christmas morning I was fresh and started right off with my practicing this song. Right away I noticed the mistake I had made the night before and with several practice sessions during the morning, I had learned the song and was able to play it up to speed for everyone Christmas night. I can’t stop playing it; I just love it.

A Merry Christmas to you Lisa and your family and all the best in the new year!

game up after dealing with my cousin Asekor Glay. This is not only a great way to listen to your favourite music,
but also a great way to discover new music too. An experienced mixer has the
right tools, but most importantly the knowledge to make a
    recording reach its full potential.
