Songs are continually being added to my site (both free and for members) as I create them. If you have a request for a song, you may add your request as a comment to this post for future consideration. I am not accepting personal requests that require a deadline such as a wedding, exams, special occasions, etc. I do not accept any requests for songs that are currently copyrighted. Copyrighted songs are songs that have been published within the last 120 years. More information below: I am sure you have already noticed that piano lesson curriculum is full of traditional songs, classical songs and they all seem to be offering the same list of songs. Why is this and why aren't there Continue Reading
Happy Mother’s Day!
Nearly 3 years ago, in 2007, I became a mother again.. to my first grand baby! ~smile~ Yes, I am a grandmother, and loving it! It seemed like only yesterday when I held both my daughter and my granddaughter in my arms in awe of the miracle of life. As I look back on that day, I remember sharing those special moments with my students. It seems there is always music to share when special occasions enter our lives. I released and dedicated Brahms Lullaby nearly three years ago when my granddaughter Kaiya was born, and I want to re-release it today to you, in honor of Mother's Day. Piano Lessons and Tough Olympic Skaters..What Can We Gain?
1. Aim for balance. Take a cue from figure skater Mirai Nagasu, 16, who finds time for school, homework, friends and Japanese classes…plus her intense skating schedule. Goodbye, lame TV shows. Piano lessons first! 2. Ditch excuses. Limb loss, wheelchairs and brain injury don’t stop Olympians from high achievements in competition. Don’t let the anything stop you from your goals! Piano lessons are worth it! 3. Stay dedicated. Some world-class athletes travel hundreds of miles for every practice. Makes the few-seconds to walk to and practice the piano seem not-so bad, huh? 4. Have fun. U.S. athlete Noelle Pikus-Pace tapes funny messages to her sled before races. Find ways to make Continue Reading
