Do you remember last year when my family took a trip to Alaska and I shared the piano progress of my 11 and 15 year old?
Since then I have had many students request lessons for learning how to play the type of music that my children chose to work on.
This video is the song my 11 year old daughter chose to learn… do you remember this?
That particular style of music is referred to as “New Age” which is an expression of music that really touches the heart at a deeper level than other music might. Now, don’t let the phrase “New Age” scare you… it’s not representative of a particular lifestyle…it’s merely a genre of music that is written with intense emotion and expression.
Anyway.. before I ramble too much more, I have a friend and colleague who teaches this style of playing.
His name is Edward Weiss of Quiescence Music. He focuses his teaching on giving you simple chord patterns and instructions that allow you to sit down without sheet music and express yourself on the piano. Sound relaxing? It really is. It’s something new and different to try and I thought maybe you might need a little boost of motivation in your piano skills.
Edward is a published author of a book titled “Free to Be Creative at the Piano” and he is giving this 342 page book away – free! (And as an added bonus…a free 7 minute video lesson as well!)
“Free to be Creative at the Piano!” isn’t just a sample or an advertisement – it is a full 342 page PDF book with loads of sound advice and usable examples. This is the actual full version of the entire book – nothing cut, nothing else to buy – all yours – free. I downloaded myself a copy as well. I like to learn new things on the piano from time to time… ~smile!
Just as a heads up …This isn’t a typical step by step piano instruction manual, but rather a collection of inspirational exercises where your desire to create your own music fuels your learning process. It is when your desire is deepened that you can develop a stronger and deeper technique.
And best of all – it is FREE! If you have always wanted to take a shot at creating your own music, go ahead and request your copy by signing up on Edward’s email list (don’t worry, you can unsubscribe if you don’t like it) – get a free video lesson and download his 342 page ebook! The worst that can happen is you find it useless and you can unsubscribe. The best thing is that you get to re-connect to the piano and with your love for music.
And isn’t that worth a shot?

Thanks,
