A Day in Valdez, Alaska

June 18

Today was a lazy, overcast and misty day. One of those days that just makes you want to snuggle deeper into your blanket and not get up. We actually spent the morning taking time to get up and get ready for the day. Jay was first up and left for a walk with Cocoa. He was actually gone longer than he usually is, causing me to get in the jeep to search for him..I didn’t have to look very far.

When he returned we gently encouraged the kids to get up and get ready for the day…after another couple hours, we finally headed out to do a little “gift” shopping and explore the town a little more. We didn’t get any pictures of us shopping, but Jay never fails to want to take a couple shots of me. These two pictures show a backdrop of the marina, and stormy mountains:

A local man at the Visitor’s Center told us that there is some good fishing in a lake just outside of town, so we decided to give it out best shot. We packed up the jeep and headed out. The kids did the fishing and though we had fun, we didn’t catch anything:
