Minuet in G
Minuet in G
A catchy little tune by Bach
1. The red arrow pointing to the sharp sign shows that all F's are sharp in this song....I marked the F's for you with a tiny red line on it's stem.
2. The green arrow you see between the two notes in measure #4 is showing that you will be stretching a little...your #5 finger will be on the high G and your thumb will reach down to the G toward Middle C. (That is an eight note stretch.)
3. In measure #4 (left hand) there is a red (2). As you know, numbers in parenthesis are check points to see if your fingers are in the right place. The red in parenthesis is a crucial check point...it proceeds an important manuever. Your finger position in measure #4 needs to be correct in order to proceed to measure #5 which requires a "thumb under" movement, landing your thumb (#1) on the next note, which is A.
4. The next crucial check point with the left hand (measure #7) should find your #4 finger on D. You will play D with #4 finger, then in the next measure you will play the same D with your thumb (#1).
5. There is a crucial finger check point starting in measure #6 with your right hand. The check point in parenthesis should find your thumb (#1) on G. Your #2 finger will then reach over your thumb to play F sharp, while your thumb stays in place on the G. After you play F sharp, your thumb should still be in position to play G again. This is a really quick movement and easier to show in person than trying to explain in words. To sum up what I just explained, play G with your thumb, F sharp with your #2 finger, then G with your thumb again. This happens again at the end of the song.
